Crazy Golf Pants

Golf fashion 2011

The 93rd PGA Championship was held at the Atlanta Athletic Club this week and crazy golf pants were everywhere in the crowd. No photos were allowed inside the event (so I can’t show you the purple paisley, bright circles that looked like a Twister game, or the plaids and stripes) but I captured this picture of the latest golf fashions outside the gates as we headed toward the shuttle buses.

Check out the photo gallery at Chicago Tribune Style for more crazy golf pants.

Dinner at Hi-Life

Delicious dinner at Hi Life of seared jumbo scallops, wasabi whipped potatoes, tempura green beans, roasted shiitake mushrooms, and a lemongrass beurre blanc sauce. Yummy!

Pump Your Own Water

Pump your own water

When I was a little girl, my brothers and I thought it was great fun to pump water out of the well at my grandmother’s farm. The last time I visited, I couldn’t get a drop out of it! I’m not sure if I gave up too quickly or if the well, indeed, has run dry.

Plants That Make Me Itch

7 Aug

Poison ivy plant

Just looking at this poison ivy makes me itch!

It took me a long time to figure out that it was this plant that makes me break out in a rash because it doesn’t look like ivy nor does it look poisonous (so healthy and green!).

Remember: Leaves of three, let them be.

Bugs and Blooms

Another beautiful daylily, blooming just for today.

Every Day a Bloom

Daylily dew

Looking back over the 228 pictures I’ve posted on my blog this year, I can’t help but notice quite a few have been taken on my morning walk in the garden.

I grab a cup of coffee soon after the sun comes up and head out with the dogs and cats at my heels to see what’s new.

Most days I just have my iPhone4 with me as I think there’s nothing to photograph today that’s any different than yesterday (otherwise I’d have grabbed the Nikon). But as you’ve seen, I usually find something that catches my eye and I snap a photo to remind me of that day in the garden.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my daily photo half as much as I’ve enjoyed sharing them with you. Have a beautiful morning!
